2026 suppressors

Sounds like there is over 100 new suppressors at shot show this year. Do any of them look like they are going to beat the scythe ti or banish back country for a hunting suppressor?

So hard to know what will actually perform better—especially in a convention setting. I’m definitely going to be picking up several this year so I’ll report as I try them.

I will admit I have not seen all of the reviews from all of the YouTube channels on all of the new suppressors given how many there are. It seems like every one of them has their own “hook” to make theirs look better.

I have yet to see someone produce a model which will take a 270/280/ 30-06 or higher level rifle and make it truly hearing safe where there will be no ringing of my ears at all when shooting it. If someone can come up with something like that then that will definitely be what I will be purchasing.

However I still will continue to purchase some. I’ve gotten to a point where I feel like it’s best to have a dedicated suppressor rifle combination and not switch suppressors around between different rifles.

Carter, it seems to me the environment I’m shooting in plays a huge factor on whether my hearing is safe or not. I have a HarvesterEVO attached to my 7mm-08. If I shoot in trees/canyons/etc I have to wear hearing protection. But when I’m shooting out in the grasslands (whether it is hunting antelope or busting milk jugs) my children and I don’t need any hearing protection. Perhaps why antelope is my favorite animal to hunt is because I can have my 13-year old and 10-year old with me army crawling through a stubble field to pursue the nation’s fastest land animal without needing “ears” on.

That makes sense and the guy at Pew who does all of the suppressor research says something similar.

What are your guys thoughts on the scythe TI vs the new dead air nomad ti otb for hunting?

The scythe has had a lot of failures because of the welds. Last I saw, it was somewhere around 10% of owners have had an issue with it .

I don’t know anything about the new Nomad TI OTB. I do have the Nomad TI XC and have been really happy with it. There’s SO many new options this year though that I have no idea what will win out as “best”. Airlock has my interest currently, but I would want it for hunting only. There’s better cans for higher volume shooting.

B&t have some really good options to look at as well I have one on my ar and is amazing and only weighs 8 ounces, the print x ranger is a really good option

Airlock Industries. They have 223, 6mm, 6.5mm, and 7mm, with a 30cal coming soon. I have a 6.5 pre ordered. Their stats beat anything on the market for a balance of weight, size, sound suppression, and price. If they’re as good as they claim (and everyone who has one says) then they should be the ticket for light hunting suppressors!
