So I am looking into getting a 22cm or 22arc. I’ve decided I’d prefer a 22cm but I don’t want to commit to the wrong gun and not be able to find any ammunition. I looked around at my local gun stores and they don’t carry either so I thought I’d ask. Which cartridge is going to find more popularity? Which one is going to be more available?
I would pull the trigger on 22 creedmoor.
Right now, the ammo sales are exclusive to Horizon Firearms. You can only buy it on their site. Hornady did that deal with them because Horizon created the cartridge. But that exclusivity is ending soon, so you’ll start seeing it for sale by lots of companies.
It seems to be going mainstream. Ruger is going to chamber for 22 creedmoor soon.
22Arc is a cool cartridge but I really see no benefit to choosing that one unless you’ll be putting it in an AR platform rifle. It just doesn’t have the killing power or flat shooting benefit of the 22 creed.

You can now find ammunition for 22cm at scheels and some independent shops
Just reload the CM. All the components are available.
