I have been considering building a 25 Creedmoor on a budget. I don’t have many options being left handed I have a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger American Gen 1 I thought about a barrel swap on it, but it is a very good shooting rifle and it’s completely done. I don’t use it much anymore. I replaced it with a 6.5 PRC or maybe a Savage axis 2 I see them lefty pretty cheap i’m just not sure about the availability of pre-fit barrels for these cheap rifles. I was just wanting some input from the backfire community. Maybe some of you guys will have some better ideas thanks
Savage Axis isn’t a great action. I have 2 savage 110s and they are good, but not on the lvl of Tikka or Bergara. Saying that, just about all barrel makers do Savage, just look up the barrel you want and see. I think the Axis and the River actions might be comparable. I like the 110 better than a Ruger American.
Go to a pawn shop and find a used 243, 22-250, or a 308 Remington … I’m sure you can find something on the cheap… then put a Shaw barrel on it…
