300 blackout reloads

I’m working on reloading 300 BLK subsonic for my SBR but all the load data I am seeing is based on a 16" barrel. How do I adjust to the powder amount for a 9" barrel. But then I am guessing need to have a fast burning powder as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks

No personal experience with this myself yet. However,

I have seen this come up on other forums and YouTube videos. One thing that might help, I know you can go to the Hodgdon load data website and look up your caliber under the “pistol” section instead of “rifle”.

Oh, didn’t think of that.

Thanks

Looked in the 2 books I have hornady and hogdens, and neither have 300 BLK under pistol reloads. So, still stuck with the original question.

Dang. Sorry for that.

Strange that they would have pistol loads in 308 and 7-08, but not in 300BO. Especially since, as i understand it, 300BO was originally designed around a rather short 9 inch barrel.

Get you some cfe blk powder and some 190 grain Hornady sub-x bullets can’t go wrong.

Hodgdon’s doesn’t have either one of those in pistol and Hornady only has 7-08

Off point and absolutely no help answering the question.

I would just use the 16” barrel loads to start. I reload for a suppressed 8” 300blk and have been doing 10.7-11.0 gr of accurate 1680 and 190 gr or 220 gr projectiles with velocities between 950-1050. You could always start a little higher (supersonic) and work your way down as to avoid getting a stuck load.

Do you have any problem with not all the powder burning?

It’s super dirty. I don’t see unburnt powder but I haven’t tried to collect and burn the soot.
