300 Blackout Scope

Hey guys, i recently purchased a Christiansen Arms Ridgeline Scout in 300 Blackout with a 16 inch barrel. Which power scope would you all recommend?

What distances are you looking at shooting? and will you be shooting sub-sonic?

Yes, definitely mostly subsonic suppressed. But i would like to hunt out to maybe 300 yards with it also.

I put a 3x9 on mine. works well for my uses. I expect to max out at 100 -125 yds. 300 yds with subs will be a stretch. With supers I would consider 300 the limit.

I have a unique hunting situation for my 300 Blackout. I own property in Texas that has a feral hog problem at times. Its creek bottom land and the hogs move in and then move out fairly quickly. Shots can be from a few feet up to about 200 yards.
My wife and I moved to Ketchikan Alaska several years ago. I hunt Sitka Blacktail Deer here and am considering getting a Black Bear as well. Shots here are 150 yards or less and can be very fast from acquiring the target to shot in open woodlands (it’s a rainforest).
All of that to give you some background on what has worked well and not so well for me. I started out with a Leupold vx-freedom in a 2-7x33 (duplex reticle & no illumination). That worked ok (not horrible) but I felt that I needed something different. Next I tried a 5x prism scope (think poor man’s ACOG) and mounted a red dot on an offset mount. The problem with this was it ended up being an all or nothing situation that I feel like just plain old iron sights would have worked better. The 2 best options I have used (and have mounted on QD mounts) are first, a SwampFox Arrowhead 1-6 LPVO (Mil & illumination). It worked much better but I should have gone with the 1-10 for my older eyes. The “best” I have found so far has been the Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24 Rifle Scope Gen III ACSS-300BO/7.62x39 with Scope Mount and Magnification Lever. It is an all in one attempt for me to be able to shoot both super & sub-sonic without having to switch optics. One side of the vertical reticle has BDC for super-sonic and the opposite side has hash marks for sub-sonic set for 300 Blackout and 7.62x39. It has illumination and has been solid for me.
I hope that my rambling makes some sense and is helpful for you so you don’t have to spend as much money or time as I have. Luckily I have 2 grown boys and 4 nephews (and my wife) that I was able to “regift” my mistakes :joy:.
Good Luck!!! The Blackout is one of my favorites.

p. s. I shoot 110 grain Barnes TTSX and Hornady 190 grain sub-x bullets both suppressed when I hunt and have had very good success with them.

Awesome man, heck ya! Ill definitely let you know. Thanks for all the good help! :facepunch:

Read that whole bit to see if we tried some of the same things and what I took away from it all is… where is your property in TX. I live there and I would love a place to hunt hogs if its close

I have a Venom red dot on mine now, but had a Strike Eagle 1-6 before (now on my AR). My 300 is my up close Coyote getter as the ones where I live are fearless. That PA 1-6 confused me, I just didn’t get the Supersonic one side Subsonic other. How does it work for you, lines up well?

The property is about 1 1/2 hours east of Austin. Whenever I come down I’ll have to DM you.
This is a picture of the reticle…it doesn’t line up perfectly on paper but so far it has been “minute of pig or deer!”

That is different than what I remember looking at. That’s much easier. Might have to revisit.

I have been up there once at the ‘Water Fall’ fishing resort over a decade ago. My trip was the result of one of my brothers generosity. He couldn’t go, so he passed his ticket to me. I never forget the best fishing experience of my life. After 4 days and 3 nights came back with 75 lbs of filled fish nicely vacum packed and frozen. Ended up ‘gifting’ most of it after having them smoked and vaccum packed again. Me too, jealous. :joy:
