300 win mag magic bullet

In your recent podcast you mentioned that there is a “magic load” that works the majority of the time for most calibers. Is there a load you would suggest for 300 win mag.

I am shooting really well with a banes burner 175 grain, 69 grains if R16, 3.53 coal. Which works great for the range but I want to get a better hunting round. I switched to barns lrx 175 similar powder and not getting as good of results.

Any suggestions of what to try next for my elk hunting round?

On one of their podcasts the Barnes crew said that the 180 TTSX just has a reputation for significant improved accuracy over all of the other 30 caliber offerings.

I just wanted a good elk load, highly respected guy at my range gave me advice that bullet and powder landed on that load first try

It’s shooting from a 300 WSM, not a Win Mag, but I consistently get around 3/4 inch groups with the 180 TTSX from a Tikka Roughtech. Different cartridge, so the powder and charge may not translate, but the 180 TTSX is working great.

Some good advice from people here. I have only done a little loading for the 300 win mag so I don’t have a great load for that one. But I do really like the Peterson LONG brass for 300 win mag. Great innovation to take some of the slop out of the chamber dimensions.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will load up some ttsx and see what happens!
