30mm scope rings

Ok please dont beat me up for this one…

30mm scope rings. My tube tl53 thermal says it has a 30mm tube. Says its 30mm scope rings but its a 1.2 inch tube which is not 30mm typical scope ring fit. I knew when i bought 30mm rings they looked small. Can someone explain to as my first wife called me, a public school moron, whats the measurements and a 1 inch tube vs 30mm scope rings and whats all this mean and how this all comes together. Hope im making this clear. Thanks…and btw I think i would be around 50% on the 600 yard challedge…maybe. Happy off season guys!!!

Most tubes are either 1”, 30mm, or 34mm. If the scope says 30mm, I can’t imagine why 30mm rings wouldn’t work. One or the other is wrong.

1.2” is pretty close to 30mm - .05mm off - I think .

Did you check with the company? B/c they do make printing mistakes.
I had a similar experience when I was buying my first Steiner scope. Steiner at the time had two websites. And the information they had on Opticsplanet was incorrect. And so did the information on one of Steiner’s websites. I ended up calling Steiner USA and talked to one of their techs and he directed me to the correct size rings. Then I emailed Opticsplanet customer service that their information was also incorrect and they need to contact the company and correct the error.

30/25.4 = 1.1811 inches. 1.2” is bigger. 25.4 mm is the official definition of an inch. Well maybe 2.54 cm but the same regardless.
