6.5 creedmore reloading

I am just starting to get into reloading and and am just about to do my first load of 6.5 creedmore. I am loading this for long range plinking and hunting deer in Utah under 400 yards. I have some eld match but after some research I do not think that would be good for hunting penetration. Any suggestions on bullets that could fit the hunting and long range accuracy?

I like the Hornady ELD-X for a balance of economy and accuracy. The Nosler accubond long range is another great option. I have gotten fantastic results from both of them.

I’ve hunted deer in Utah with the ELDM bullets and they worked just fine. I’d do it again.

For elk or general hunting I’d pick the ELDX, but the match bullets are generally fine for smaller animals.

Everything I’ve shot with my 6.5 CM 143 ELD-X has died within sight: Dall Sheep, Pronghorn & +300lb Saskatchewan Whitetail

I’ve talked to a couple of the guys at Fierce, and a lot of them are using the ELDM for hunting everything, including elk. I’ve read that on a lot of forums. Never done it myself, but those who like it, seem to really like.

I’ve watched a lot of deer die with a 6.5 creed 143 gr eldx hole threw em. Even a couple bull elk.

Thank you guys, gives me an excellent place to start!
