6.5 Grendel Hand Loads Recs (Match?)

Anyone have a good 6.5 grendel hunting recipe? Ive been shooting box SST rounds with slightly above MOA results. Im shooting this out of an 18" AR barrel.

Aslo, my gun LOVES the Hornady Black Match bullets. Are those the same construction as other Hornady Match? I.e. - are they ok for hunting?

I shoot quite a bit of grendel here. Pistol, a/r and bolt. i have a few good loadings if you want to reload i’m willing to share. We actually have a lot of luck with the sst in the grendel if hand loaded. 120 TGK is another good option. The grendel is a great bolt gun loaded to bolt pressure.

In our a/r 12” guns 129ablr is really good out to 250 or so.

Im definitely interested in the AR setups. I have a 16" barrel and I use it 100% for shooting out of box blinds during whitetail season. Furthest shot would be about 200yrds. Im getting decent results from box ammo but would like to tighten it up a little.

Here is a good starting point. The sst and bthp load the same.

What powder and primer are you running on these?

Leverevolution is what i use for grendel mostly. It will get you the best speed with good accuracy, not great standard deviation. Ok dont see that a15 or 20 S/D would matter inside 300 yds anyway.

6.5 Grendel are my hunting rifles here in Texas out to 400m. I do not hand load yet but Druid Hill Armory makes super consistent stuff that I love and trust. The 95G Hornaday vmax gets shot from my 18’’ and the 120G sierra pro from my 14.5" with a Tisha on it both gas guns.

I just placed an order from Druid Hill so I can try the sierra. The SSTs do ok in my gun but there is definitely room for improvement.

Got my druid hill order and went to the range. I got a box of 120 Sierra Game Kings for $85…woof.

Unfortunately, my gun does not like this bullet. I got 3" groups from them with a bipod and rear bag.

Back to the original plan of working up a hand load.
