6.5 PRC Winning Handload

Continuing on Jim’s recommendation of finding a load that works, I am looking for handloading specifics for “champion level” 6.5 prc handloads. This will be used for hunting, so probably something centered around ELD-X or Berger bullets.

So, what are the best of the best?

My 6.5 prc load is :fire: …. But it requires Reloder 26 which I’m almost out of and which is unobtainium.

I see a ton of people using H1000 for 6.5 prc, I know it’s not reloader 26, but is there anything worth trying down that path?

Yes, an n565

H4350 seems to work well, 4831SC also

Jim is there a source that you look to see what the pros are using for load development?

I know 6.5 prc isnt a PRS favorite, but anything that would get me started in the right direction would be awesome.

I know it’s not a helpful answer but honestly I just text a few experts and ask, lol. I have been wanting for a long time to put together my own “recipe book” of winning loads to share with you guys. I’ll get on that.

I had an accurate load with 156g berger eol and n565 but 3.2 graines over max concerned me so i pulled bullets on 70 rounds and back to powder charge test.

Grouped pretty good hope ill find a similar node at safe charge weight.

Im also working up a load for 142g ABLR and H4831sc, but its shelved while i square away the Berger.

I have a decent 6.5prc reload.

The flyer was due to premature discharge. The Seekins Havak Slam’s trigger was a little under 2 pounds. I dialed it up a bit.

Thanks for sharing Robert. This looks like a great starting point. I have some H1000 and ELD-X sitting around. Ill give it a try.

Someone else tried this dope and got the same results. Btw I used Lapua new brass
