Hey guys, hope everyone is well. Getting ready to start reloading for 7 PRC and noticed that while most folks recommend Large Rifle Magnum primers (Fed 215 for example), there are plenty of people that just use the regular Large Rifle primers (Fed 210).
Any of you have any experience with this. I’m sure I’ll end up buying the magnums (215), but I have a bunch of plain Large Rifle right now and thought of just loading a few with them since I have them in stock.
If it works for you then it works. If you get inconsistent velocities switch to magnum primers for better ignition. If you’re using your rifle in cold weather, use magnum primers.
In general, I’d use the magnums for 7 prc but I’ve loaded it with standard large primers and it worked great. Load a little velocity with some powders but you’ll usually get a smaller sd.
