What kind of recoil does the 7 prc produce, I’ve shoot a 270 suppresed how does it compare to that? In a hunting platform like a tikka T3x 7-8 pounds maybe 9 scope and all. How was it performed in hunting aspects? Looking at the 7 or 6.5 prc
I think thats a personal preference. Im a guy that doesn’t mind a little kick. My first gun was a .270. Then i bought and hunted with a 300wsm for years. As a guy once said, “When you have that animal in your cross hairs, you never feel the kick.” I have a bergara mglite 7prc with the factory break and i can shoot it all day. Oh and i bought a backfire pad for it. Probably depends on the weight and set up. In my opinion…
I also have an MGLite with a Backstop on it in 7 PRC and it shoots well but in general I’d point to the 6.5 prc unless you NEED the 7 for hunting very big game.
What size game would you recommend going up from the 6.5 to the 7?
By you I assume you mean Jim but I will answer anyways - elk. There are some rare cases like oryx and moose as well. I would not hunt big bears with a 7. But that is just me. Most of us won’t ever hunt these things other than elk.
