I am reloading my 7mm Mag for the first time. I currently have these three bullets to choose from. Can you give me some loads that you have had success with with these weights. 162, 150, and 139. I have three manuals but not sure what powder to start with.
I will be hunting anything from coyotes to elk. The distances will be determined on my groups. I doubt I will get it tight enough for anything over 500 yards. Shooting an old Remington model 700.
139 Hornady SST
140 Nosler Ballistic Tip
140 Sierra Game King Tipped
All bullets:
Hornady Brass
IMR 4350 at 63.0 to 64.0 grains (gives 3125 - 3175 fps in 24-26 inch barrels)
Federal Magnum Primers, but also use Remington and CCI
H1000 at 68.5 grains running about 2950 - 3000 in the 150 Nosler Ballistic Tip
Hornady Brass, same on the primers.
All of these are below maximum charges so no pressure issues, easy on the brass, primer pockets, etc.
