Hey I am looking forward to the new backfire stock. I am looking for a rifle to use it on that won’t break the bank. I thought I saw something about Tikka selling just the barrel and action. But can’t find anything for less then a new rifle.
Any other suggestions for actions and barrels to use in the new chassis without breaking the bank? Thinking of 6.5 creedmore or prc.
I had not heard that Tika was selling barreled actions, but certainly would love it if they would.
Bergara or Aero would be a good place to start looking. Maybe Howa.
Bergara sells stripped actions or barreled actions. Weatherby also sells a rem700 clone stripped action, the weather by 307. You can often find aero solus stripped actions at a discount as well. Depending on your budget and needs, you can buy a tikka for 600 and up from Europtic and then throw it in a chassis. If you plan on keeping the tikka barrel and want it threaded, it’s a bit more bc it’s from their 2025 line of T3x or their roughtech line which is upgraded.
Also be on the lookout for blemished sales. Even the big name companies will sometimes do that.
I’ve even seen Aero offer blemishes and then you’re talking about a really inexpensive offering.
Wouldn’t bother buying a Tikka if you’re building a custom rifle. Plenty of very very good actions that are better setup to accept prefits if you go that route, and the r700 clone aftermarket is massive.
