Adding a suppressor - Re-zero?

Hi all, just curious to find out from folks that have added a suppressor to an already zeroed hunting rifle, how off was your zero after adding the can?

Great question, I just got my Nomad and threw it on a 20" .308 win. My POI shifted 3.6 inches down and two inches to the right. Groups opened up from .5 inches to almost two inches. I need to go back and try again, something is off. I did buy a concentric rod and nothing touches? I feel I have to commit to suppressed or not suppressed as there is that much of a difference.

That is interesting, I wonder if the shorter barrel length affects that? I also just got a Nomad Ti and have it on my Christensen Ridgeline Titanium 300WM which is a 24" barrel. I’m going to be checking it out as soon as all the crazy wind dies down here in Idaho. I guess as long as it is on paper it is not too much trouble. I’m definitely going to commit to hunting suppressed.

I’ve seen it change as much as 6” but as little as 1”

I added a CGS Hyperion to my 2020 waypoint topped with Leupold VX-6 3-18x44. Deviation from the zero was very minimal. I recently zeroed my 300 prc and next time I shoot will be with the CGS and I will update

I had just put a banish 30 on my 6.5 CM tika 24" barrel. It changed my POI by around 8" straight down.

My Dead Air Sandman-S has minimal shift on any of the rifles I use it on, maybe an inch or two at most. But I’m using flash hiders on the rifles and KeyMo QD-adapter on the suppressor. I’m curious how different the shift will be when I start using the direct thread SilencerCo Harvester Evo I’m waiting on (Day 293 today)

at 100 yds? I assume this is from barrel droop? 1 moa at say 1 ft is .01 inches so it sags .08 inches. 1 moa at 1/10 inch from exit is .008 approx. I guess that could happen. I wonder on a carbon fiber barrel would be stiffer for that and not move as much.
And with turrets can you dial up for supressed vs none supressed?

There’s a variety of reasons for the p o i shift. Sag is one of them. But there’s also change in Barrel harmonics as well as change of velocity of the projectile. Maybe even others I haven’t thought of yet.

Yes, you can learn the shift that you get and be ready to dial it into the scope. Keep in mind it may not be only elevation, windage can also be affected.
