Advise on Selling a Firearm

Hi guys, Sorry to keep asking about this topic. I am selling my newly finished 22 CM build.

I am going to take a loss on it. I know that. But I am trying to minimize the loss as much as possible. If you were a potential buyer. Would you rather pay more for the firearm ($1999) with the custom carbon fiber stock? Or with just the factory stock but with upgraded parts on it ($1699)

Here are pictures of both options. Any thoughts you might have as a potential buyer (price and which version etc…) Please share. I really appreciate it.

I’d sell with the stock so it can rightly be called a full custom.

Thanks @backfire. What do you think about the asking price of staying firm at $1999? Wanting to stay firm because I will already be taking a loss on it :frowning:

Probably supply a breakdown of what is in it. Action, Trigger, Barrel, Stock, etc. You can build a rifle cheap or build one primo. Who knows what components are in this custom built rifle.

It’s a fair price but I also think it’ll be really hard to sell. At that price most people are going to want to spend a bit more and customize it how they want.

Not a ton of selling experience, but I’d have to think selling custom rifles is harder than factory well known brands. I buy a Tikka/Sako, I know exactly what I am getting. I buy a custom and my mind naturally goes suspicious. Does it shoot well? What’s the matter with it that they want to sell this custom rifle?

I would think someone looking at a custom gun, and at a higher price point, is going to be picky about the components. If even one thing is different, they may hold out or just build their own.

I don’t think the price is unreasonable unless you want to sell quickly. I have no idea how much you’ve put into it vs would get back from selling, but I hope you find a great buyer and everyone walks away happy.

All excellent points that should be brought up next time there’s a buy factory vs build your own discussion.
