Anybody know what’s going on with aero precision’s shipping times? I made 3 orders starting on Black Friday ending cyber Monday and nothing has shipped…. These are not FFL items. Their website says 3-5 days processing, and I get it they must be really busy but it’s been almost three weeks. Jim you know anybody over there that can tell us how backed up they are? I’ve tried email and chat support no reply.
I got a Aero Solus for under $600 from Red Hawk rifles. I hope not too good to be true.
I am going as inexpensive as I can to build something. Got a pre-fit Outlier 26” barrel in 6mm CM. Got their chassis system and muzzle brake:
Without glass and trigger right at $1350. Another $700 for glass and trigger to go so just over $2K for a competition rifle. Remains to be seen if it will be any good.
Just listened to your latest podcast and wanted to chime in about your Aero precision/ solus recommendation. I Agree that for the money their products are hard to beat but I think you should mention the long lead times and crappy service Aero offers. Purchasing Aero Precision product direct from Aero is an exercise in patience… I’m still waiting on my dec 3rd and 4th orders.
I also spent a couple hours on hold and a couple hours waiting on chats only to be hung up on or chat ended before I could talk to someone. In the end I scraped the internet for the head of fulfillment’s business email which is nowhere on the Aero site. I sent him an email and within a few hours received an email from Gelicia Davidson director of customer experience. She told me she was sorry they were so behind, offered me free overnight shipping and gave me an estimate of when the products ( all solus actions, barrels and tools) would ship. Long story short:
Aero Precision website will sell you product they haven’t even made yet!
They take your money then hold it for a couple months while they produce the product
It’s near impossible to get any support from them through regular channels
There are many threads online (Reddit) complaining about it.
I think you should tell your listeners, especially the backfire members what is going on.
I think the answer is to purchase Aero product from 3rd party sellers and make sure they actually have the items in stock before you pay. then you get the good price, good service, quality parts and don’t have to wait.
If you would like to talk to Aero management email me directly and I’ll send you their contact info.

PS: they finally sent me a barrel overnight shipping to Hawaii but I can’t put it on my receiver because I’m still waiting for the barrel vice and receiver wrench…
I am still waiting and now I am in a pinch. Courts in Oregon have said Measure 114 is constitutional. So if I do not get my action this week (which is not likely) I will be stuck until the permitting system is in place. And as far as I know there are no approved live fire ranges for the testing required to get the permit. So it could be months before I get my action. I have the barrel so stuck on that action. Land of the free and home of the brave. Maybe we will get a stay from the next court level. Ha it is Oregon. Plus there are a slew of legislative bills going through that pile on top of the measure.
