Bored again at work again and started looking at the Aero Solus. Very interesting action, such an easy bolt face to change. One review notes that the action is not really that smooth, but not bad. Also saw some of Eric Cortina getting a 5+ inch group at 100 which worried me.
Anyone have this action? If yes, what do you think about it?
I could have sworn that I’ve heard Cortina mention on a podcast or two that he absolutely loves them.
I’ve got one, but currently only about 50 total rounds through it. It’s a 7 PRC build with an Oregon Mountain Barrel and a Woox stock. So not a ton of experience by any means. But what I’ve seen with it’s been perfectly fine. I’ve tested out two different types of bullets. I did note some troubles to feed with Bergers, but that could be multiple other things other than the action. It feeds eldx perfectly
Yes, action is great, their customer support took 6 months to get back to me about a light primer strikes issue. The action smooths out completely after a couple thousand rounds.
I have one in a 6.5 Creedmoor build… have about 250 rounds through it and I really like it. It is pretty smooth (not quite as smooth as my SAKO, but smooth) it is getting better the more I cycle through it. It has been very accurate for me
