Am I the only person who thinks we need more OTB suppressors?

Grok managed to find Two Over the Barrel suppressors that support brakes. Only one of them is useful while the Can is on the rifle.
For those of us who want to hunt with something larger than a 6.5 creedmoor (and not much larger - 6.5-284) a brake would be nice - and short would be nice, and quiet would be nice (light would be nice - but we’ve got to pay for the rest of it somewhere)
I don’t really want to hang another 8" on the end of my 26" barrel. But if I want quiet and less muzzle flip, I’m running low on options.
(Gave up on the Sherman Short - die availability and future chamber options 300PRC) Switched to 6.5-284 (long action), 26" barrel - in a Backlight chassis, if Jim can stop bagging awesome Caribou long enough to crank some out :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I line the idea of over the barrel, but the couple that are out their still have some improvements to make as there still heavier and noisier then the Airlock, Tenet, SAW, and some other titanium cans out there. I really looked hard at UnKnown Suppressors OTG, but luckily I made sure it would fit over my carbon fiber barrel… which it didn’t so that’s a downer that if you run carbon fiber barrels yo might be out of luck

It surprises me that in the states you guys pretty much only have muzzle forward suppressors. Down here in New Zealand we all only run over the barrel suppressors and they are so good, not heaps of added extra length with a good amount of noise reduction because of all the extra volume that is over the barrel. Not many suppressors here and muzzle forward other than for rimfires and some lever guns. Most of the companies here and making braked end caps too, just for the extra recoil reduction and keeping the noise down still

If be curious to get some links of the company’s your talking about, to look at there websites, I’ve seen a couple of hunting shows where the guys flew to New Zealand a literally, walked into a store and walked out with a suppressor for their hunt

Yep there is no paperwork needed to buy a suppressor here, if you want one you can just go out and pick what you want. Only need to show your firearms license to buy ammo or a firearm.

Those 3 are probably the main ones making them here, I’m sure there is probably more but they are the big players here. Hardy also make custom rifles, one of which being a switch barrel rifle

I’ll have to check into what’s involved with import - my guess, since the AFT is still in the loop - not going to happen.

I know Hardys are selling the rifles in the states so I’m assuming that they would also be looking to sell the suppressors too
