Anyone have experience with a Benelli Lupo.
I had one in 30-06.
I personally thought it was a better gun than the Alternatives in its price class from places like Weatherby, and Winchester. The Weatherby and Winchester’s would do okay for a couple of shots but if you tried to shoot three or more you started having significant flyers. Perfectly okay for a hunting gun but I like to shoot some too. The Benelli would easily do three if not five shot groups that were tight.
Fit and finish were acceptable. I did like the fact that it came threaded with a 5/8 x24 whereas some other guns in that class would do 1/2 x 28.
It was definitely the softest shooting 30-06 of the crowd also.
Ended up selling it because while I liked it, I’ve got a much more expensive and nice 308 as well as a much more expensive and nice 300 Win Mag. Because of those two I found myself rarely if ever grabbing the 30-06.
All of my gun store buddies say they just sit on the shelf and never sell.
From plastic sling studs to a Tupperware stock and weight, I just don’t think it’s the best in its price point.
