Backfire live

I was lucky enough to catch the backfire live last week and I heard Jim mention the Tikka 7 PRC didn’t group good. Then they added a suppressor and the groups tightened up. My question is from the accuracy data base for the guns that were shooting 1” or better groups. Did you ever add a suppressor to those guns and did the groups tighten up also?

We have tried a suppressor on many of the rifles that were shooting mediocre. In no case did we see the rifle perform worse with the suppressor. I’d say about 40% of the time it’s a drastic improvement. We especially see it in magnums.

I had a pencil barrel 30-06 that was worse by a factor of 10 with the banish 30 on it. It couldn’t support the added weight. Eventually replace the barrel.
