I’ve only really hunted in NY where we shot maybe 100-200 yards. Here in Utah I still haven’t done any long range shooting, although I do have stuff like a REM 700 308 heavy barrel and a Benelli 300 win mag. I took a long range rifle class where we shot out to 650y. It was on the range shown in the first Tom Cruise Reacher movie. This was before ballistic software was common.
what’s the “go to” software that’s most common now?
Geoballistics is the most user friendly from what I’ve seen. Applied Ballistics has better and more bullet models verified by real world testing however.
