Bergara accuracy issues

So I have a new Bergara MGLite in 6.5prc. Scoped with a Burris Veracity PH II, and a Raptor suppressor. It seems to me that as the barrel heats up the accuracy goes to hell.

This was the first 5 shots today at 100 yards. Ammo was Berger 140 gr Elite Hunter.
I then shot 4 shots of Federal Terminal Ascent 130gr at 100 yards. They are the 4 spread out shots. Barrel was a little warm so I took ten and let it cool. The next 6 rounds are the one hole group.

I didn’t let it cool any longer than it took to set up a new session on the Garmin Xero.
The next 5 shots at 100 yards were Hornady Match 147gr not a very tight group.

The last 7 rounds at 100 yards were Hornady Precision Hunter 143gr ELD-X and they were all over the place.

Two Days ago I did the same test with the same ultimate results except I started with the Hornady Precision Hunter with a tight group, then Hornady Match with a tight group, then Federal Terminal Ascent wide group and Berger all over the place.

So does it seem the Bergara carbon wrapped barrel is not dissipating the heat as it should and is effecting the accuracy when the barrel gets hot? I came home from the range and double checked the torque on scope and action and nothing was loose.

Any advise or comments would be appreciated. Kinda disappointed in this $3100 rifle.

Dumb question: How much time were you taking between shots when on 1 ammo?
Dumb question #2: what was the temperature when you were shooting?

Maybe 30 to 45 seconds between shots.
Was an indoor 100 yard range so 70?

That shouldn’t heat the barrel up so much that you get that result…

That said, I also have a Cure barrel and the first ~50 shots through the barrel I got similar results, except I also shot some copper Hornady Outfitters. After that, I started getting really good .5-.85 MOA groups with both Federal Premium ELDx and Hornady Precision Hunter ELDx.

For my first ~50, the weather was cold and wet. The next I got it out to shoot, it was 20 degrees warmer, humid but dry.

Maybe the pic rail is loose? or is your Muzzle Break/Can getting loose as you shoot?

yep, shoot it without the suppressor and get a baseline on that performance. If any one particular ammo has been more consistent than the others, use that load.
good luck

Is it a direct thread suppressor? I’ve seen similar issues when a suppressor starts coming loose over a shooting session. This is also why I’ll take the weight penalty for a suppressor mounting system like Keymo on pretty much any rifle over direct thread.

Were you mag feeding on one group and single feeding on the other? That was the issue we experienced with the mg lite.

No I was single feeding.

My conclusion, since I originally did the same test in reverse order. Precision Hunter, then Hornady Match. They both shot sub 1MOA groups. Then shot Federal Terminal Ascent then Berger Elite Hunter, They produced a wide group.

What I have drawn as a conclusion, based on my shooting experienced and comments, is that this rifle will be a nice hunting rifle. It is not designed to be a plinker. It is designed to be highly accurate for a hunting shot and maybe a followup. After 4 or five rounds it gets hot accuracy will become unreliable. It is what it is.
