@backfire i recall you having accuracy issues with a Bergara mglite. Seemed like it shot well single feed but not from the magazine? Were you ever able to get to a satisfactory answer?
I recently got one of their new barreled actions (#5.5 in .308) and have struggled to get anywhere near 1 MOA groups. Most have been 2 MOA+. I have used numerous different types of quality ammo and even tried a second chassis. No success. (It’s not my rail, rings, or scope - I have checked all that more than once)
My guess is I will have to send it back to Bergara but my fear is they will just say they found no issues. At this point, I’m just frustrated that I have wasted a bunch of time and money on this project.
Have you tried Sig Marksman Hunter ammo with a sierra Gameking bullet? I’m shooting a Bergara Sierra in 308 literally right now at the range and it seems to shoot decently.
We have had significant issues with Bergara carbon fiber wrapped barrels unless we use a suppressor.
I emailed Bergara for my rifle and asked what bullet they guarantee the sub MOA with and they recommended the Norma Bondstrike, and it shoots 1/2 MOA groups with it. Mine is a 7 PRC, but I would recommend emailing them for their specific bullet recommendation.
I share your frustration. I purchased a Bergara Premier Divide in 6.5CM. I am running suppressed and have tried several different mfg of ammo. Wasted a lot of funds on this. The best I have found Berger Hybrid Hunter 130gr, Federal Terminal Ascent 130gr and Federal Premium Berger Hybrid Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor 135 Grain get within 1moa. I am starting to experiment with working the in lb of force on the bottom plate to see if that will make a difference. The recommended in 65 in lb. Also, I have loaded 40 difference loads with the Berger and Federal Terminal Ascent to test out. I haven’t given up but I am disappointed and believe there are better options. Is it accurate enough for deer hunting? Yes, but not what I expected. I won’t buy another carbon barrel.
Believe it or not mine didn’t. Goes to show how individual every rifle seems to be. I’d be interested to know how much harmonics affect a carbon fiber barrel as opposed to a steel. Does the weight of the individual suppressor affect the harmonics. I never understood all of the factors that can affect the accuracy and fine tuning of a rifle.
Not sure if this is universal, but my Crest Carbon 7PRC went from accurate to extremely accurate after several hundred rounds and several cleanings. It’s a 1/2 minute gun now. Federal premium ELDx 175s.
