Had to share with everyone, this is my son’s first dear season in western Oregon. After turning 9 in the spring he spent a day shooting every week over the summer to get himself ready and comfortable. Many miles have been hiked, hills glassed and practice for the season to open. Today he got it done!
He’s using a 1976 Remington model 700 chambered in 243. He helped overhaul the gun last winter shortening up the stock, sanding and refinishing it. Then installed a new 20” barrel added a brake. Such a sweet old gun built perfectly for him. Thank you for letting me share this awesome moment as a dad.
