Looking for a very accurate and smooth action in a 280 Ackley or 6.5 prc. Mostly deer but possibly elk someday. I currently have a Mesa in a 6.5 Creedmoor and it is ok but still has flyers. Do not hand load so I know ammo for Ackley could be a little hard to find although Pendelton is making it and they are expensive but hand loaded. I do not have the money for custom so over the counter is what I am going to have to settle for but $2,000 is a reasonable number I think unless you have something that is a little more but shoots lights out. Every gun is different and will need fine tuned and there is no perfect answer but for left handed guys it is even harder. Let me know your thoughts so I can make hopefully the best judgement call I can for the money. Thanks
I’m a lefty as well I did just pick up a left handed Fierce Rogue from buds gun shop for 1800$ I have not got it yet but it has great reviews I’m hoping it lives up to it’s reputation I also recently bought a savage 110 that’s left handed as well they have a lot of left handed options
My son bought a Tikka Tikka T3x Lite Veil Wideland 6.5 CM and loves it. They make it in a left hand model. I got his on Europtic and they have a sale going on the 6PRC.
Unfortunately more and more it seems manufacturer’s are dropping left handed bolt rifles..
CZ, they didn’t make the 600. ruger ( no gen II American) , remington, winchester, maybe ? I have not seen one on the shelf in years. Savage, cva and begara, along with tikka and I’m thinking sako probably.
My savage 110 Ultralight in 6.5 prc is very accurate, trigger is ok, stock is ok, Action is not as smooth as the tikka ,but they do make the southpaw in 280ai with the carbon proof research barrel.
Not necessarily what your looking for, but I know Cabelas/Ass pro shops always have some wiggle room are there used guns, especially if your a club credit card member, that will get you at least 10% off… but they have some interesting used ones that will get shipped to a store near you for free for you to inspect.
