Bolt jam... wtf

So, i finally got out to the range to try out the new 6.5 CM and got the zero… even 34km winds, so im sure ill have to redo it.

After firing about 20 rounds, with.coolsdowns every 5 shots, on the very last shot… jam. The casing wouldnt eject and the bolt was jammed closed.

What can I do?

Bolt action or ar-10? If ar-10 you can mortar it by ramming the butt stock on a table, bench or ground while pulling the charging handle back.

If it’s a bolt action rifle and it’s just the case, not a live round, you can maybe try jamming a cleaning rod down while trying to open the bolt. That’s what I’d do. Might take two ppl.

Not too sure about the bolt action as I haven’t had a stuck case like that. But I’ve done the mortaring with ar-10/15. Usually works. Good luck!

If it’s not a live round, I’d just mortar it. As long as the bolt rotates open, just slam the buttstock on the ground while pulling back on the bolt.

Next step will be to figure out if this was the fault of the gun or the ammo so it won’t happen again.
