I have a browning xbolt max long range chambered in 300 prc with a 26” barrel, would that barreled action fit well in the backlight chassis? Would the chassis handle the recoil? I would have it suppressed or fitted with a muzzle brake if that helps.
We aren’t going to have that Inlet right away, so no the chassis wont fit it for a while, but that inlet will eventually be available. However I will say, the backlight chassis is around 32 ish oz. depending on the inlet you get, but for a 300 PRC with a 26 in heavy contor barrel, with a muzzle device, it would be manageable ish… that depends on how much recoil you would be willing to take. I dont know if i would let a child shoot it, but with plenty of practice you can learn to manage it. What does the rifle weigh now? How shootable is it for you?
As long as the inlet is available at some point, I’ll be very interested! The rifle itself weighs 8.7 lbs, the barrels action with an optic rail weighs 5.6 lbs by itself. I had a heavy scope on it before and the set up was 11 lbs. I felt I could handle the recoil very well, it wasn’t bad especially with that muzzle brake. If I calculated correctly, if I put on the backlight chassis and a lighter scope, that would make the new set up weigh around 9.6 lbs!
Is there a potential release timeframe for the xbolt browning inlet?
Hopefully in the first two months but it really just depends on what problems and fixes we run into that have to be done before we can add more inlets.
Sounds amazing!
