I picked up an Eliminator 6 a couple months ago. Really nice features on the scope and the ranging works well. The issue I am having is the clarity of the glass. I am constantly working the parallax and the diopter to get a better sight picture but it never gets to a point where I feel like it is clear. For the price, I was expecting much better quality. I have $300 optics that are much clearer.
Has anyone else had this issue? I am wondering if I got a lemon.
Odd. I love my eliminator. Glass quality feels premium for sure but not as premium as others in the same price because some of the investment is in the tech. But I certainly have no complaints on clarity.
I had the same issue with my eliminator. It’s my understanding that it can be caused by overtightening the rings and not allowing that parallax to move freely. It doesn’t say it anywhere in the manual I could find, but they only want 15 lb/in torque on those rings, per their customer support.
The quality of the glass is apparent in low light but the range dot showed up brightly. I had to move the ring forward and tighten at 15. The parallax is still somewhat tight but works well. Over all I really like it for hunting.
I had the same issue at high magnifications sent it back and they either fixed it or sent me new one . Just got back from Africa and took 7 animals at ranges from 275 to 350 and it was clear and preformed great Love It
You shouldn’t have to ever touch the diopter, once it’s set. Set it right and properly, and leave it alone. After that, only ever use the parallax to focus.
Wanted to follow up on my post. I spoke with the Burris team a couple times after going to the range a few more times with the Eliminator 6 and ended up sending the scope in to Burris for warranty. I heard back today that the optic will be replaced through their warranty program. Excited to get a new one with clearer glass and glad that Burris stood by their warranty program.
