Caliber Choice for Wild Boar in Europe

Hi,

I have been hunting with 8x57 for wild boar. Which is kind of a traditional caliber in Europe. My rifle is Blaser R8 , 23 inch fluted barrel, suppressors are not allowed here but I use muzzle break. 8x57 is a nice caliber but I need something with a more stopping power but not too much recoil for follow up shots (I use Norma Vulcan ammo)

I also have 300 Win mag in Blaser R8 but it is huge heavy 26 inch match barrel and not ideal for standing shots without tripods + recoil is not helping for the follow up shots, it is ideal for Red Stag here (my favorite ammo is Nosler Acc. Trophy Grade )

I use Gunwerks 7 Rem Mag for Ibex and sheep hunting, I love that riffle and caliber but just don’t wanna waste my barrel life with hogs since it is not easy to replace barrels here (Gunwerks custom ammo)

So, Could you please suggest me preferably a few new calibers with a suggested barrel length? Wild boars are usually at 50-200 yards here but they are insanely strong and you need perfect shot placement. I need something with a high stopping power with an acceptable recoil

Ammo recommendation will be appreciated as well

Thanks
Turgut

Are you able to find a rifle chambered in .308? We have wild hogs here in Florida, although on average they’re smaller than their European counterparts. But, we still get some in the 175-200lb range. Every time I’ve gone hog hunting, I bring my 16-inch barrel AR-10, chambered in .308 and it’s typically one shot and done. It’s an excellent caliber for hogs.

A few ideas:

350 Legend, 450 Bushmaster, 7mm-08, 308, 338 federal, 45-70, 8.6 Blackout
