Finally pulled the trigger on this guy. High shoulder shot. Anchored him on the spot. Not a bad North Idaho whitetail. He had strong scent. I do not mind that smell of them rutting. Smells like success!

Very nice . Idaho is the only place I’ve taken a white tail.
The mulies are up in the mountains and the season is Nov 1 to 10. But like a lot of areas they are suffering but there are some nice bucks still taken. Lots of lions, bears and wolves. We try for them first then focus on the WT which goes to Dec 1 and is any deer. Last couple years I got a doe so nice to get this buck. They are really cool antlers for sure. I am guessing 4.5 yr old. His body was big but not super large. I will send the tooth in.

Final tally is 18 lbs of good cuts and 23 lbs of burger. I tend towards more burger because I can cut faster and that is what the fam eats most. So I don’t know - if I get 35% yield then a 120 lbs deer maybe a bit more. So not really that large of body.
Rough score 168. I hit shoulder so some meat loss there.
