Hey all, what is your experience with a carbon 6 vs oregon mountain rifle company? I love 280 ai. Looking for prefit. I have seen the custom build in the accuracy section. I like the feather weight and sendero from carbon 6 just because I like a taper for a look and help with my balanced weight for a gun.
I read a lot of horror stories about the Carbon 6 Customer service and taking forever, so no real experience with them, but that did lead me to go with OMR. I did a 22” 280 ai, and it shoots great and turn time was half of what they said it would be.

What action are you looking to pre-fit too?
I looked hard at Carbon 6 but also have read horror stories, on Rokslide
Tikka t3x is the action I am using. Johnny what are your velocities at that length barrel in 280 ai?
I don’t have much experience from Carbon 6 but I’m quite happy with my OMR barrel in 280ai.
I shoot at a range called roaming shot in slaughter Louisiana. They love cabon 6 and stocks a lot of barrels. I don’t have one but a lot of the guys are shooting them with Ben’s (owner) builds and they do shoot really well. Shooting golf balls and 50 cent pieces at 1000 yards with them. Another source if you are curious. They market their own actions, silencers, and custom builds.

i had it in an mdt hnt 26 and really didn’t care for it, and sold that and ordered a peak 44 stock. So it’s been sitting in my safe as a barreled action, waiting for the new stock. Only shot it once with those 2 ammos and eldx, but the eldx had a really heavy bolt lift and didn’t group. I’ll probably go with the LRX, unless the accubond group well. I have a box of those to test when the new stock comes. I was about 60-80 fps under my 24” fierce 280ai on all ammos.
Jim, have you had a chance to take any game with yours? What bullet are you shooting?
I just ordered a OMR 280AI for my tikka today. Sending out my action tomorrow to have them do all the cerakoting and installation but they’ve been great so far with communication

Killer. Send some pics when it’s done. I think my next rifle will be a full build from them. I’ve been incredibly happy with those guys.
