Crack in stock @ rear action screw

I was putting new rings on my Savage 110 (Polymer Stock) .243 and felt that the action tighten up. After investigating I discovered that the stock has a tiny crack @ the rear action screw. Enough so that it will not tighten to the 40inlbs is supposed to be at. Not sure that has anything to do with the action tightening up (its still tight even outside of the stock), but I don’t like that I have a crack there.

I have a couple questions:

  1. Can the stock be saved? If it can, how?

  2. If it can’t be, I would appreciate recomendations for a new stock. Perferable under $500.
2A. I have looked at the MDT Field Stock, the MDT LSS Gen 2, the MDT Oryx and the WOOX Supperleggera and Merica. None of these are perfect (QD Flush cups, ARCA rail built in. The ORYX doesn’t seem to be hunt ready at all). Is the Superleggera worth the extra $$?

TIA for any/all suppestions. If anyone knows of a lightweight stock (not Boyds) that has QD flush cups and an ARCA rail, please let me know.
Ben

I have been seriously looking into the GRS rifle stocks for my 110 Tactical and an older wooden stocked REM 700. I don’t think that their less expensive model has ARCA rails, but their more expensive ones do

Anyone have any experience with the Ultradyne UD Chassis? I would only need to get a AICS mag and the pistol grip to complete it and it has the ARCA rail, under $500.

I went ahead and purchased the Ultradyne UD. $299 for the Anodized black (which hides wear better that Cerakote) and you can’t go wrong with black. I have some spare parts from AR builds so all in all this could have been much worse and in the end I am getting a significantly stiffer stock, an Arca rail and QD flush cups. Not really needed on this gun but you never know…
