Decisions decisions

Following up on rehoming my T3X I’ve been surfing, reading and watching reviews and finding deals along with price match possibilities. I’ve also decided the untouched Aero upper/lower set will be contributing to the liquidation of funds. I’m dead set on 7 PRC, short of a unicorn 6.8 Western PH2. So now to figure out the most pew for my greenbacks.

Seekins Element (urban shadow because I located one on Clarence)

Seekins PH3

Springfield Waypoint adjustable

Weatherby 307 Alpine CT

All use an AICS mag configuration so loading the PRC long, if need be, won’t be an issue.

Wouldn’t mind a Christensen MPR if I knew it would actually be a good one but their quality is in the tank anymore so I can’t even ponder that route.

I would use your Tikka T3x action and put on a Proof PXT barrel.

Tikka T3x Lite in 7PRC - $749

Backlight chassis - $849

Total - $1598. You saved hundreds!

If you look at the Seekins vs the Tikka in the Rifle Accuracy Database, the difference between them is basically nonexistent, and yet it costs 1/3 the price. I just don’t quite see what the value is in the Seekins then, because it’s not accuracy or reliability. The Seekins stock is not great. I just don’t see what you’d be getting.

I think patience, or lack thereof, and 3.560” COAL vs 3.90”. Not that I’m ever likely to run anything that long, especially with wanting a fast twist 270 WSM.

I’m not sold on the PXT path yet. If it was the solution Kreiger would have been far more popular for having offered it long before Proof existed. But I’m also intrigued in it.

With that rebate that Springfield is having on the waypoints, I think I’d go that route.. you could always take that 10mm you get for free from them and dump it on gunbroker, which should get you a extra $400+ to put towards a scope etc… I have 3 friends that have them and they all shoot and feed lights out.. just wish the trigger tech trigger they used had lower adjustment… I have one all picked out and hoping “Crapbelas” or “Ass Pro Shops” has a club member day soon so I can get the extra 10% off

I may capitalize on that and use by military discount. Might only be 5% vs 10% but it’s still a savings.

Make sure to find the same model cheaper, then they’ll beat it by 5%, use your military discount of 5%, and if it’s a club day get another 10%… but I don’t think they are going to have any club days this month as there offering 0% on all purchases of $500 or more for club members….

isn’t every Monday a Club Day at Bass Pro?

It was in May, but yet to have one in June… and I see the 0% for 12minths offer for June.. I’m crossing my fingers that next week they’ll throw a club member day in for Father’s Day

I have a Seekins ph3 7prc. It’s been a great gun. For the customer support it’s a no brainer for me, plus I’m from idaho so gotta support the home state companies. Took a mule deer and elk with it last year. I swapped the supressor for an area 419 brake tho.

Funny you should mention supporting Idaho businesses. I had an obsession with a particular region around Dubois that doesn’t border Wyoming. Headed there with a muley tag in September, plan on bringing my rifle in the even I tag out early to sit the carcass for a bear or cat. Can’t seem to convince my wife we need to vacate Nebraska, she’s sick of moving and rebuilding, so I’m building my career around traveling to adventure.
