I didn’t draw an Antelope tag for Wyoming. What are some other hunts I could do in other states. Any good places that offer OTC tags for anything?
Bummer. I didn’t draw for antelope with 5 points.
I’m looking at an axis hunt in Hawaii to fill the spot.
Pronghorn in the Texas panhandle or northeast NM!
Utah, Colorado and Oregon usually have rifle elk tags.
Washington should have mule deer and blacktail tags.
Oregon will have blacktail tags.
Most states have bear and cat tags, some have wolf tags.
New Mexico always has auodad tags.
aoudad is exotic in TX. Just need land permission or public
I assume public is limited in the areas that the auodad are?
AI will give you all available public options. That’s my favorite way to search. Best bet, everything “on” the Edwards plateau (Abilene and west) will have aoudad.
Elk is classified as an exotic species in Texas as well with no closed season unless that has changed recently but I hear that is a pretty tough hunt just to fine the critters.
Same never thought it be so hard to draw… been trying for 3yrs so far but we still go out there and scout and fish.
My attempts via friends in Texas has been the trespass fee is more than a guided private land tag in New Mexico.
Really…. That is depressing. I am assuming that much of the public hunting is landlocked with private ranches thus the trespass fee.
Texas just doesn’t have much public land. It’s similar to Nebraska but worse in what’s available.
Whitetails in Wisconsin. Half priced first year main tag. $100ish. $20 for a bonus tag. The permit area I hunt in has roughly 30000 acres and that is splitting the county roughly in half. Rifle tag covers muzzleloader as well. On Onx lookup Bayfield, Washburn, Burnnett and Douglas. Basically the Northwest counties nearest to Duluth Minnesota. Most of those counties have scenic camping permits for free or $25 for like 2 weeks. You can camp on any trail etc as long as others can pass by for counties lands. Also get the right permit area and you can buy 1 bonus tag a day till they run out. There were still like 1000 left during muzzleloader season last year….
