I am wanting to get into reloading. Do I need to buy specific dies for each specific caliber I intend to reload? Or is there an all encompassing die set by chance?
I only know of individual dies, not sets.
You’ll get a two-die set for each specific cartridge. One die is a full length resizing die to reshape the brass after each firing, and the other one is a seater die to put the bullet on.
You may also see neck only sizing dies. Don’t use them.
There are alot of specifics in reloading. Like powders, primers, projectiles… etc…
You have to be very careful. If you put the wrong powder ie handgun / shot gun powder in a rifle cartridge it’ll hurt.
Good point…get a good reloading manual or three and follow carefully when working up a new load. I am still relatively new to reloading, but between the various component manufacturers I have been able to find load data for every thing I have wanted to do. I only ever have one powder (the one I want to use) out on the bench at a time to help prevent the pistol/shotgun powder going in a rifle case by mistake. Oh, and when I was getting started, I found Jim’s reloading course very helpful.
Pistol or rifle and what calibers?
