I have been hunting with my dad since I was 5yrs old (I’m now 46). I have always been amazed, and struck by a sense of wonder, at the shiny little packages of brass that deliver our projectiles down range. Jim, we all love it when you dive into the data to bring us content on various rifles, cartridges, scopes, etc. So… would you be willing to tackle efficiency? I know you touch on it in a number of videos but there must be some algorithm that can be come up with to figure some things out. Cartridge analysis: grains of powder needed + down range energy? I know this already gets complicated… what grain projectile? What powder loading? Barrel length (maybe optimized length for each caliber)? Etc.
Any chance you would be willing to tackle this in a video in the future? 7mm-08 is incredibly impressive to me: 250fps less than a 7 rem mag But the 7rm uses 40% more powder! There are others. You bring this up here and there within your content but maybe a focused video? Maybe it needs to be done in “caliber categories?” Just wondering. Thanks!
