Dang. Looks like Trump swept every swing state, won the popular vote, republicans won the senate and possibly kept the house.
Pretty much no pollsters predicted that outcome.
Cautiously optimistic about the future. I just hope republicans can actually balance the budget, shut down the border, and reduce the size of government.

Agreed. If the Republicans don’t get the agenda done they have no excuse. They have a conservative Supreme Court, Republican House & Senate and the Presidency.

Last night was a positive for our country. I hope Trump learned from his first time in office and can get the things done he said he would do. The Deep State, globalist or whatever we want to call them won’t go down easily. Thankfully enough people said we have had enough of what has been happening and want a change
If Trump closes the border and protects the Supreme Court I’ll call it a win. Republicans tend to talk tough when we’re out of power then chicken out when they can actually do something

I was happy with the results of the election and I too have cautious optimism about Trump’s second term. Fine to take a victory lap, but I want to emphasize that the self-proclaimed elites that dominate our colleges and universities, main stream media, and the halls of government will not roll over just because Trump won. In fact, I expect them to double down on their anti-free market, anti-growth, Western civilization hating, postmodern neomarxist fueled vision of the future. Now is the time to keep pushing and support President Trump in fulfilling his America first agenda by securing the border, addressing the millions of illegal immigrants that entered under President Biden, standing up to China, balancing the budget, and shrinking the federal government. We won the battle, but the war is far from over.
This was a huge win for freedom. Especially because the MSM spent the last several months trying to get us all to believe he would be a dictator. Of course all while supporting a censorship agenda of their own, and persecuting their political opponent… it wasn’t exactly convincing. This kind of a landslide victory is clear sign that MSM is almost dead. Unfortunately I still have family members who think he is going to setup concentration camps and put his enemies in front of firing squads. Like what the hell are we supposed to do about the mental health crises caused by MSM? If anyone has ideas pls let me know.
I will say that victory was not entirely unexpected. Betting markets were pretty close, much better than the pollsters. But it was so decisive and devastating. Even in deep blue states, much ground gained. Many former dems switched to Trump. RFK, Tulsi, Elon—the whole dream team really delivered.
@alexfields I also have friends and family members who believe President Trump will become a dictator and do all the things you mention. At this point, I am at a loss about what to do. The MSM was so egregious in their treatment of Trump. Similar to the election I hope the American people will rise up to abandon all the major outlets driving them into irrelevancy. The MSM’s hyperbole, along with certain online influencers, was truly outrageous and unfortunately some believed their claims. Over time, I hope that when people see that President Trump isn’t what the MSM claimed, they will finally be able to let go of the belief. Until then I am not gloating with my family members who fear Trump and looking for small openings to address issues of policy rather than the man. Apart from that, I am praying for my family members and the country.
Of course he wont be a dictator. Not against his voters anyways. He will use exec orders to do things as they all do. If that makes him a dictator then they all are. If he does what he says then since people voted for him we will be happy. You cannot please the crazies so why try? I have not heard a policy out of him I am against. Even tariffs. The stuff to be tariffed is stuff you mainly do not really need or you can afford the add on. What in Walmart is a must have? Food is made here so not tariffed. Lots of foreign cars are made here already. If your S class Mercedes goes up then You can cry a little bit.
So the left has a conundrum. What is the purpose for the 2A? And what is Trump going to be? And if they wanted to use the 2A for its intended purpose would they settle for muskets and revolvers?
This looks like a problem for them.
