Anyone know when 25 PRC will get SAAMI approved?
I don’t know that anybody has submitted for that.
I would be shocked if Hornady didn’t own the rights to the phrase “PRC”, and Jim has said in the past that they told him that they had no intention of ever applying for that cartridge because the brass life was too short.
Hornady has said they are not working on it. They said it’s too overbite. Not sure why they wouldn’t just change powders to calm it down a touch.

Federal might be solving that problem with their June launch of the new backcountry launch
They could also change the case design and lower the powder capacity.
When the 7PRC was in rumor stage, many predicted it would be a 300PRC necked down. Others thought 6.5PRC necked up. Hornady says they explored both of those options and could get neither to work optimally. So they created a brand new case design that split the difference between the two.
