Favorite bible verse / most influential verse for you as a man.
For me - Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
It encourages me to know that God is in control and has a plan for me. It is easy to get caught up in the mind set of “manning up” and “doing it yourself”. Thanks for having this platform! I am thankful for this community of like minded men.
So many that are pertinent to daily life, but two that I find motivational:
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Can I share an odd one that became very valuable to me two years ago?
Matthew 6:34 “Sufficient is the day for the evil thereof”
I had been worrying. I sold my business and it was financially a huge win, but I was feeling aimless. Couldn’t sleep at 2AM and suddenly that phrase filled my mind. I didn’t really know what it meant. I didn’t know I knew that scripture, and at first, I wasn’t sure if it was a scripture at all.
I came to learn that it means that each day already presents enough problems and opportunities to improve. Leave unpleasant and worrisome issues that we may face in the future—to the future. Worrying about them today won’t help. We have to walk by faith in this life, so we won’t have all the outcomes made clear from the beginning.
So I am very involved in a local church program here in Louisiana called ACTS. It is an acronym for

We have retreats about twice a year. After my retreat I began to watch so sappy “Jesus Freak” movies but this is 2 fold. this scene always stood out to me
But a verse that stands out to me is
Mark 11:25 "And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:6-7. This verse has helped me tremendously through the years. I will look back to it often in times of need to remind me that I can lean on him when I need spiritual support. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
I think we as men, especially in this world today, need to be better about banning together, and supporting one another and pushing each other to grow in our relationships with Christ, and become better leaders in our homes and our communities.
