Well, that is one way of getting the job done. Good job FBI. At least you got the right address. Did you learn how to surprize a 70-ish year old, handicapped, gun owning, mentally declining, obese, cane walking, man at Quantico, or did your commander and chief give you that idea? That education at tax payers expense was well worth the money. Next time try rushing him at his handicapped parking spot at the grocery store. Go for the arm that isnt holding the cane first. OR Pretend his name is Madonna and give him a call first. Note to self… if i take longer that 20 seconds to loudly break into someones house by the time i get to his room that person will have a gun in his hand, and most people will protect themselves.
I know he had a previous run in with the FBI and what he said was illegal, but you could have paid me nothing (i wonder what that raid will finally cost the tax payer) and i would have brought him in with no body count.
It will be interesting to see what details come out, if they come out at all.
Unfortunately, there are local law enforcement personnel far worse than the FBI. At this point maybe there needs to be a civilian equivalent to the UCMJ that applies to all LE personnel. The whole qualified immunity crap is BS, as is, the cowardice of the whole “thin blue line” crap.
I think the biggest thing that bothers me is that when LE messes up they tend to circle the wagons to protect their own… when I was in the military the majority largely wanted that person to never wear the uniform again because we didn’t want those types to represent us. I think the mentality is what’s different. For sure there are those in every u inform without integrity but when your job requires that you interact with the public it behooves you to not see the public largely as “enemy combatants” in general. This is one of the largest a disconnects that I see with LE in general at most levels even when it isn’t MOST LE personnel committing the screw ups.
Honestly I just wish more citizens kept consistent energy across the board when it comes to misconduct across various communities. There are too many instances where people don’t believe what their eyes see when it comes to adverse interactions with poorer people that can’t afford high dollar lawyers or minority communities that deal with crooked cops. We all know the stories and the play book of the Police Union to dig up unrelated dirt to justify the present situation that has nothing to do with the incident in question. The reality is that these things rarely happen to the wealthy or privileged because they know they can’t get away with it against those that are more empowered to make something happen to prevent it in the future.
