I bought some factory ELD-M, some factory ELD-X, and some reloading ELD-X. Will shoot all of them at my target and post results when I get a chance. I’m concerned that if the velocity out of stock ammo is different than what the pricing target is, that the accuracy might not be as good. Let’s hope that I can get similar groups with whatever velocity comes from these various boxes.
from the hornady reloading manual 200 fps from lot to lot would be 4-5 grs of powder for 175 gr bullets. I sure would hope Hornady could control the lot to lot tighter than 5 gr of powder weight. I assume they load by weight and not volume. I wonder if they have a spec for lot to lot consistency and some kind of warranty if outside that.
Eric I bought the same package as you did from Fierce in 300 PRC.
The proof target they sent me was off center as well but at the range the rifle was shooting dead on.
I was worried as well because this was my first bolt action rifle that I ever purchased and the price tag of $5000+ was hard to justify.
After shooting the rifle I am very please with the certified 1/2” MOA out of a magnum round.
The only issue that I have had is my magazine will fall out of the rifle when shooting.
I contacted Fierce and I shipped my rifle back yesterday so hopefully I get a fast turn around and this issue is resolved.
