I just got my Mtn Reaper and am shocked at the proving target they sent me. Is this what they call a zero? Am I unrealistic when expecting more from a $200 dial up zero charge when spending $5000+ on a complete rifle and scope package? The group is great, but it’s 4.5” low and 1” left. Shouldn’t take me long to fix the zero, but I expected the convenience of “point of aim, point of impact” at 100 yards for what I paid.
maybe they said that is too good and so we won’t move because the group could open up. I am concerned that the velocity is only 2695 for the match ammo. That is quite off of the 3000 fps that is published. Don’t know the length of your barrel.
My guess is that they didnt really zero it.
It’s like buying 6 boxes of ammo to see what she eats.

Glad you brought the velocity up. I was just watching a video on YouTube yesterday from reloading Weatherby and he was not getting advertised velocities from 7 PRC either. I believe he said other YouTubers were saying the same thing.
It’s a 20” barrel, so that could be a factor if they tested in something longer.
Maybe they zeroed it after testing accuracy?
2695 does seem pretty slow for even a 20” barrel. I’m at 2895 with handloads in a 20” barrel using Reloader 26 powder, so maybe that’s an option for you.

I suppose I’ll find out when I take it to the range. I purchased a bunch of H4831 SC in anticipation of loading this. We’ll see what I can get that is accurate.

I am going to shoot some eldx match and eldx hunter and federal ascent this weekend using the garmin xero and see what I get with a 22” proof research cf barrel and a banish 30

Also, is it normal to only get one magazine with their rifles?
Are there other brands that include more than one? Because every single rifle I have purchased so far came with only a single magazine. Interesting!
This is the first bolt gun that I’ve bought new from a manufacturer. The bolt gun I bought used from a friend didn’t come with any magazines because he was being stingy. A couple gas guns that I’ve bought came with two magazines and then all of the pistols that I bought have come with two or more magazines. I wasn’t really sure what to expect.
I’ve never seen a bolt gun come with more than one magazine.

Love my Rage but the zero package is such a scam. They said they’d shoot out to distance to verify dope. Then said, yup, we verified. When I asked for the data I was told, oh, we don’t save it. Just verify it matches the app.

Would have figured if not the data they would have at least given you the different targets from the different ranges so you could verify the drops.
Yeah, I have serious doubts that more than the three shots on the provided target were ever shot.
here is what I got for my shots this weekend out of a 22in CF barrel with a surpressor. Hornady ELDX hunting round. Something is not right with that sight in target. I did not shoot the eldm but they won’t be that much different.
I shot some Hornady 7 PRC ammo last week that had a 200fps velocity difference between lots!!! Yikes.
I did not shoot from different lots. Did not think of that.
