First reloads - lessons learned

So, I haven’t reloaded very many yet and I haven’t gotten one perfect, yet. But here are some of my lessons learned, I thought some of you experienced guys might get a laugh out of them:

1 - Open the micrometer completely before seating first bullet. I nearly pushing the first bullet all the way in.
2 - Wipe the wax off the case before putting in the seating die. I pushed down 2 shoulders before catching onto that.
3 - Don’t buy calipers that only go to the hundredth.
4 - When emptying the auto charger, close the spout before moving. Powder went everywhere.
5 - Double check that the powder actually went down the funnel before picking up the funnel. Again, powder went everywhere.
6. Get a good light. When I was priming the cases, I couldn’t tell if I was getting the right side in with my bad eyes.

Anyone want to save me more learning pains with others things I should careful for, or careful not to do?

The learning curve is pretty steep right now but it will flatten out some. I remember many years ago when was building a cabinet, I cut that board three times and it was still too short….

One major thing to do is check each cartridge to make sure that the powder level is the same, especially with handgun cartridges. Look for double loads (more powder than the others) or no or less powder compared to the others.
