Getting my reloading bench organized (pics)

My reloading area is getting out of control. It’s time for spring cleaning. Having the two benches next to each other gives me a lot more space to spread out, and I can set up my reloading stuff in order of operations of what I do to create the ammo.

However, the biggest problem has been that I reload for so many different cartridges ineach other gives me a lot more space to spread out, and I can set up my reloading stuff in order of operations of what I do to create the ammo. However, the biggest problem has been that I reload for so many different cartridges in calibers. That means that I left projects undone because it was time consuming to switch between dies and set them up again.

My project for this year is to re-organize everything and the first thing I did is by the area 419 Zero Press for resizing and another one for bullet seating so that I can leave all the dice set up in the turret without needing to set them up again each time. So far, I’m loving it, but now it’s time to clean up.

Looks like a great set up. How do you like the 419 Zero Press?

I don’t reload as many rounds as you. I reload 6.5CM (your dope), 6.5prc. and 7 prc. I usually only load 100 of each, but every single step is measured, so it isn’t a fast process. However it helps my sanity to relax. I even weigh the finished round and are generally within a few .001’s of an ounce.

I have not tweaked to 7prc yet as I am waiting to get Lapua new brass. Came out last fall but haven’t been able to find any. Regardless the 7prc are .75 MOA at 100. I use Lapua new brass on the 6.5cm and 6.5prc.

Good question. I’m gonna answer in a new thread because I can see people searching for that info later.

Jim are your benches anchored to the wall in any way, or do you find the press mounts to be provide adequate stability?

They are not mounted to the wall. It has a heavy wooden top so it’s stable enough for me.

Thanks I’m putting together a bench and considering anchoring to the wall, but it makes a mess of the existing dry wall

…would love to have a video updating your reloading process and the steps you take and have removed from your process (ie. do you really not clean your brass, then that dehydrator is probably going to leave your reloading bench when you reorganize). The video might be a good addition to the reloading course. Not necessarily showing us “how” you do everything, just the steps you take and any shortcuts you’ve found to be adequate.

Good idea. I’m testing this new process for a few weeks. If it all goes well, then I’ll update the course.
