Getting started into PRS, and reloading

What should I look into to get started in PRS as well as reloading for that certain cartridge. Powders, Bullets, factory rifles, tell me what I need to do to get the best setup for a newbie that also can reload.

If you are right handed and based on Jim’s and others comments it sounds like the tikka ace target would be a good choice. I shoot 6 creed and 6.5 creed as I can reload or use box ammo as necessary. Pick whatever scope is in your price point. I run a zeiss lrp s3 on one gun and a vortex razor gen 3 on the other, both 6x36. My nrl rig is lighter and I run a kahles 3x28 on that. I really love all 3 of my optics, but there are many good scopes at a lower price point for you to consider and I will defer to others on recommendations for those price point options. Don’t forget a good rear bag and a bipod. Check out videos on gear.

If you have not been to a match go on to one. Call ahead as many have loner rifles for you to try to get a feel for what you like and everybody I have ever met are happy to let you check out there stuff and will give good advice.

If you want to play as a weekend warrior with enough rifle that you could absolutely win if you’re good, Tikka Ace.

If this is a serious serious pursuit, it’s gonna be custom. Start with any reliable rem 700 action, buy a Bartlein or CRB or Brux barrel, and upgrade the chassis and trigger when financially able.
