I just read your article from last year where you talked about a couple of guided hunts that wouldn’t break the bank. Informative read, thank you! I was wondering if there have been any other hunts in the past year that you have found that you would include on that list as well? My fiancée and I both love to hunt and I think I convinced her that we want to go do a guided hunt for our honeymoon!! But with being a full time college student it is kind of hard to find a hunt that is feasible in price as you can imagine. We live in AZ and she prefers rifle over archery so I had some sort of rifle mule deer or whitetail hunt in mind somewhere out west. Wanted to reach out and see if anything came to your mind that could help convince her some more!

I’ve seen 20% gratuity recommended by you and other for guided trips. When you have a guide, chef, and/or multiple people, is that 20% of the trip price divided among all of them or would I be expected to do 20% for each of these individuals?
I think 10% to 20% is a good tip overall. I always pay that to the owner and let them distribute the tip between the staff.
