Can I remove the expander on a Hornady Match Grade FL die and just use a decaper?
I have an EC expander mandrel and die.
Yes. I take the expander ball and pin out of all my dies. Keeps me from getting stuck cases and more consistent neck tension.

Can I use it with no decapper?
Yes.
You will need to use a depriming die to get rid of the primer , as well as a neck mandrel die to set the neck tension appropriately.

I really appreciate the info I have a decaping die and on order is a Cortina Precision mandrel and die.
