I took my Howa 1500 SA and had a Preferred 25CM barrel spun on. I had the issue when shooting it as a 6.5CM that the bolt lift was stiff. That problem didn’t go away after going to the 25CM. Love the caliber as it will shoot .5" MOA if I do my part. The problem is with factory loads. Do I need to get the lugs lapped or a rough chamber? I can’t figure out what causes it to be hard to lift the bolt after firing. Thanks
Where in the boot lift is it stiff? Right from the beginning or just right when you get to the top of the lift? Is the boot tough to lift if you just dry fire? Does it happen if you chamber and extract a case without actually shooting?
Right from the beginning of the left. Kind of reminds of one of the rifles you tested that you have to manhandle a little to overcome the static force.
Sounds like the bolt needs a complete tear down, inspection, possibly lapping, thorough cleaning and greasing.
Did take apart, clean and grease
