I have a Howa 1500, 6.5 CM with a wood stock. I am considering for 2026 doing a 25CM rebarrel. I already have a Bergara 6.5CM and a Rem 700 rebarreled in 7.5 twist 25-06 to shoot heavier bullets. With this duo, I question if I am really gaining anything for the costs of a rebarrel. My other option is to wait for Jim and change out stocks for the grandkids to use the Howa for deer hunting when they get a little older. I had been looking at buying them Ruger American in 6mm for their first rifle but better option my be new stock and let them use this rifle first. What is the consensus of those that may have looked at doing the same thing? How did it turn out or whose barrel did you decide to have installed? Thanks.
